Why
buy a SmartPower Energizer?
Always
a good question! Read on........
|
|
What
use is the electronic display to me?
It
indicates how the Energizer is operating, much the same as the speed
in your car indicates how fast you are traveling. With an old type
of Energizer, how do you know whether you have sufficient
"shock" on the fence line? The electronic display gives
you the information needed to set up your fence system for best
performance. It there after constantly monitors the fence system,
informing you whether maintenance is required.

|
What
do the Joules tell me?
Joules are an indication of how hard the Energizer is working to
maintain the optimum voltage on the fence line. Joules therefore
indicate how much vegetation or shorts you have on your fence
system. If the Joules reading increases to near the Energizers limit
then fence maintenance is required.
|
|
My
battery Energizer puts out 8,000 volts. Does that mean it has better
stock control than a SmartPower Energizer at 5,400 volts (or 4,200
volts)?
Remember, voltage on it’s own does not control animals - it is the
energy (joules) in the pulse that "shocks" the animal.
|
|
What
does Adaptive Control give me?
Power when you need it. No matter what quantity of vegetation or
number of shorts, a SmartPower Energizer will always deliver the
maximum shock allowable within legal safety standards.
|
|
If
I short out the fence so that the Energizer is operating at 48
Joules will the animal receive a bigger shock?
No,
the animal will not receive a bigger shock. Once the Energizer has
begun to increase Joules it is maintaining a constant level of
energy and voltage on the fence.
|
|
What
size Energizer should I get?
A
bigger Energizer simply means you have much more in reserve to
handle spring growth or bad shorts. Therefore the bigger you go the
more you reduce your risk of losing animal control. Beware however,
if you do not have the rest of the system (like grounding and lead
outs) correctly specified you will not be using the extra power!

What
is a good Earth/Ground?
The beauty of SmartPower Energizers is that they tell you exactly
the quality of your Grounding. You need to get the Ground/Earth
reading down to 200-300 volts. Just keep improving your Ground until
you achieve this reading - but remember always have your Energizer
working near maximum Joules when testing the Ground system.
